Help & Answers
Frequently Asked Questions
Please contact Scholar Gateway at office@scholar-gateway.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.
What teaching methods are employed at our centre?
Our teaching philosophy has always been "Students First." After determining each student's academic level, we will pick appropriate materials depending on their learning ability and conduct a variety of tasks to measure their progress.
What is the total number of pupils in each class?
Our sessions are often one-on-one private lessons or group lessons of two or more people.
Will you be providing any exercises?
Exercises will be provided by our teachers or derived from relevant study materials.
What is the minimum number of lessons that my child must attend?
The first assessment will be led by one of our senior instructors, who will recommend the number of lessons the student should attend after that. The number of classes recommended is determined by the student's background and the courses they are learning.
Extra lessons may be added if there are any imminent tests or examinations. Otherwise, we recommend that students only take one 2-hour lesson per topic each week.
Is it possible for my child to be in the same class as his or her friends?
Students have the option of forming their own study groups.
Can I arrange lesson times with my tutor directly?
Yes. You and your tutor can propose, accept, decline or counter-propose lesson times in the chat on your dashboard, and every change is recorded.
Fees, invoices and anything else financial stay with our administration team.
Can my child take lessons if they are studying abroad?
We can set up flexible online class schedules. Contact us to schedule a time.
What are the available payment options?
Fees are paid from your family wallet. You can top it up by bank transfer or PromptPay, or pay in person at your local centre.
The exact account details for your region are shown on your payment page once you are logged in, so you are always transferring to the right account. We never publish account numbers on this page.
What is the procedure for registering?
Register online in a few minutes — you can also come into your local centre and we will help you through it.
What function does the tutor have in my child's education?
Our tutors do more than simply educate students how to arrive at an answer; they also utilise questioning to encourage them to apply what they already know and then challenge them to explain their responses, resulting in increased independence.
What is the student's age range for Scholar Gateway?
Please contact us for more information on how we can assist children and individuals aged 6 and above to reach their full potential.
What should I do if I'm still not convinced it's right for me?
To learn more about Scholar Gateway, we always recommend scheduling a free assessment. There is no requirement to join. Before making a commitment to us, you may see how we can help your child.
What topics, levels, and abilities do you cover?
All stages of education: primary, secondary, high school, and university. We cater to all levels and offer both tuition and courses in a range of study skills from critical thinking, revision to exam skills.
What occurs during the free assessment?
The purpose of the assessment is to determine the student's aims, skills, and weaknesses, as well as any unique learning styles, obstacles, or goals. Tutors will be better acquainted with their students' goals and will be able to develop an ongoing tuition program with short and long-term objectives.
My tutor is being sought by a friend. Is it possible for me to put them in touch with the tutor?
We appreciate you for selecting Scholar Gateway. Please kindly have your friends', co-workers', or family members' queries sent to Scholar Gateway (rather than the tutor) so that we may continue to provide a consistently high level of service.
Scholar Gateway relies on personal referrals from students and parents. We thank you for your loyalty.
What is the policy on cancellations?
Lessons cancelled with less than 24 hours' notice before a tutorial are subject to a fee. Any cancellations made between 0 and 12 hours in advance will be charged 100% of the lesson's cost. If a session is cancelled, the tutor will make every reasonable effort to reschedule it on a mutually suitable day/time.
If a student does not show up within 15 minutes of the lesson's start, the lesson will be considered cancelled and will be charged in full.
What are the tuition fees?
Tuition fees are determined by the student's educational level and the number of students enrolled in each class. For further information, please contact us.
Do you provide invigilation services?
Scholar Gateway provides the possibility for students to take their exams at our centre. The invigilator service is free of charge and students will be able to take the exams in a calm, comfortable, friendly, and familiar atmosphere. This service is contingent upon the approval from the chosen school. We also provide the ISEB Computerised Common Pre-test at the centre.
We make every effort to provide suitable examination schedules, and we are also available to invigilate on weekends and public holidays to avoid interrupting school schedules.
