About the school
Founded in 1847 by William Sewell, Radley College is an academically selective independent full-boarding school for boys aged 13–18, set in more than 800 acres about five miles south of Oxford, with historic buildings and extensive modern facilities.
As a full-boarding school, boys take an active part in academic, sporting, artistic and co-curricular life throughout the week. The College places particular emphasis on character, leadership, responsibility and service to the wider community.
The two main entry points are Shells (Year 9, age 13) and Sixth Form (Year 12, age 16). Year 9 routes include the Radley List, Open Entry, Scholarship entry and the Radley Keys Award; standard routes normally involve the ISEB Common Pre-Test in Year 6, a Head's report and an interview for those shortlisted.
For Year 12, candidates attend an Assessment Day with papers in two chosen A Level subjects and two interviews. Radley also offers funded places. Scholar Gateway can guide you through every step.
