Academic subjects
GED and A-Level for Thailand
Students in Thailand can reach Thai universities with English-language programmes through the GED. Thailand's own A-Level, a national exam, is the other test families ask about. This page explains both.
Summary
The GED is four subject tests; a student needs at least 145 in each to pass, and several universities ask for more. The Thai A-Level is a separate national exam with 16 subjects, run by the Council of University Presidents of Thailand (CUPT) as part of the TCAS admission system. Neither is automatic entry: each university and programme sets its own requirements, and they change every year.

GED scores
- Passing is 145 or higher in each subject. Scores are not averaged across subjects.
- GED College Ready is 165 to 175 in every subject. GED College Ready + Credit is 175 or higher in every subject.
- Thai universities often ask for more than 145. For example, SIIT lists 165 in Reasoning Through Language Arts, and in Mathematical Reasoning and Science for engineering.
Thailand's national A-Level
The Thai A-Level is one of the central tests used for Thai university admission, alongside TGAT and TPAT. It is run by CUPT and registered through the myTCAS system. It is not the UK A-Level taken at international schools.

Last cycle's dates (TCAS69)

These are the dates for students applying for university entry in the 2569 (2026) academic year. Dates move each cycle, and we have not yet seen the official dates for the next one: check myTCAS. Which programmes use A-Level scores, and which subjects count, differs by programme.
Students from foreign schools and GED holders must obtain equivalence documents before applying: an equivalence certificate and a GPAX equivalence certificate (or a provisional certificate if they have not yet graduated). CUPT published the rules for the 2570 (2027) cycle on myTCAS.

How we help
We prepare students for the four GED subjects and for the Thai A-Level subjects, and for the English and maths tests some programmes add. We start with a free assessment so we know where your child is before we plan anything. Tell us the university and programme you are aiming for and we will check its current requirements with you.
